'SKIN GAMES'...by Adam Pepper

I came across this compelling novel, by chance, and am glad I did. Pepper writes with a down-home style, accented with everyday NY (Bronx) language, along with excellent descriptions.

His characters fit hand and glove and propel the story. The dialogues, for this southerner, is exactly like we 'think' they speak. However, Pepper used the few paragraphs of the beginning and an absolute super ending to bookend what I call a page-turning memoir of Sean, a terrific main character. A young man caught in the riptide of a bad home life. But, his mother does her best to hold his life together, and Sean is loyal to his beliefs, heart, and determinations.

Pepper expertly shows us a relationship between Sean and Nicole that at first seems impossible, but in the end will grip your heart.

Yes, there are a few scenes where the reader will see the seriousness and actions of Sean's friends/enemies, but stick with it...you will be rewarded.

I send sandy high-fives to this writer and hope he continues to apply his skill and talent to tell a story.

"FOR BABY BOOMERS"

Anyone interested in taking 'another' stroll through the 60's? The times were a'changin', but they were also enjoyable and exciting. I highly recommend this excellent memoir "Escaping Innocence" by a very talented author named Joe Perrone, Jr. It is available in eBook and paperback from Amazon.
Prepare yourself to laugh, recall, and relate as you quickly turn the pages. I consider this work 'top shelf', along with Perrone's other novels "As The Twig Is Bent" - "Opening Day" - and "Twice Bitten".
As an author of eight novels and a bunch of short stories, I give Perrone sandy high-fives!

Keep smilin'....

I can't speak for other dog lovers who love to read but a book with a dog on the cover always draws my attention. It never guarantees a good book but I'll always take the time to check it out. You know how much I loved Gabby, can't wait for Flash!!!

Thank you, Pauline. You are correct about the cover. I wish now that I'd used some various animals on "Pets" cover. On my next printing, I certainly will.
And you'll not only get a complimentary copy of 'Flash', but you'll also be mentioned in 'Acknowledgements'. Loyalty has its rewards! Keep smilin'...
